Starting in front of the Kranjska Gora Tourist Information Centre, we will cycle along a nice paved bicycle track and we will set off in a westerly direction. There we soon make a turn towards to the south - into the Planica Valley, where the new Planica Nordic Centre with one of the largest ski jumps in the world is waiting to delight you. The construction of the jump was possible due to the characteristic glacier-formed valley, which leads us past the jump to the start of a steep climb. This beautiful natural environment is made for cyclists to enjoy. The gravel road, in places also full of rocks that mountain torrents have brought rolling down from the steep rock faces into the valley, will lead us through the forest to a green oasis at the foot of the rock face, into Triglav National Park, up to the Nadiža stream waterfall. Tamar is one of the prettiest closing points of a valley, and the mountaineering chalet at the end of our route is also a place to get some food or drinks. The view of Jalovec, Slovenia’s most beautiful mountain and the peaks surrounding it will make all our efforts worthwhile. We will go back the same way, while stopping to visit Zelenci - the source of Slovenia’s longest river, the River Sava. We may be tired on the trip back to Kranjska Gora, but we will definitely be very happy!
